Introduction

You can use Account Transaction Types to categorise Account Transactions. These Account Transaction Types can then be used in reporting selections in your Payables and Receivables and other modules to narrow down the data that you wish to report on.

Adding an Account Transaction Type

To add a new Account Transaction Type:

  • Go to Settings > Adding an Account Transaction Type.
  • Click New account transaction type.

 

In the Create Account Transaction Type screen:

  • Code: Enter a Code for the Account Transaction Type.
  • Description: Enter a Description.
  • Input type: Select an Input Type from the dropdown list, e.g. No restriction.
  • Ledger: Select either Current or Future from the dropdown list for when the transactions should be posted.
  • Allocation type: Select either Primary Initiator or Settlor from the dropdown list for where the transaction will be created.
  • Analysis: Select the Analysis option from the dropdown list; Analysis 1, 2, 3, or Cash Payment Or Receipt.
  • General ledger account: Select the General ledger account that transactions for this Account Transaction Type should be posted to.
  • Tax: Select the Tax code from the dropdown list.
  • Post interest paid: Check this field if interest paid should be posted.
  • Post interest charged: Check this field if interest charged should be posted.
  • Report tax department interest: Check this field if interest should be reported to the tax department.
  • Report tax department withhold tax: Check this field if withholding tax on interest should be reported to the tax department.
  • Click Save.

 

The Account Transaction Type can be used in these areas:

  • Payables > Account Types.
  • Receivables > Account Types.
  • Cash Book > Allocate Transactions.
  • Deposits > Deposit Account Types.
  • Fixed Loans > Fixed Loan Account Types.
  • Various Reports for the above modules allow selection for specific Account Transaction Types.
