Introduction

When you purchase an item that you want to link to a Sales Order, you can mark that Purchase Order line to link it to the Sales Order number.

Edit a Purchase Order to link an item to a Sales Order

  • Go to Payables > Purchase Orders.
  • Select the Purchase Order you wish to link from.
  • Double click the line item that you wish to link to a Sales Order.

This takes you to the Edit Purchase Order Line window.

  • Go to the Allocations for purchase order line section on the bottom left of the screen.
  • Click Add specific stock allocation details.

 

This now takes you to the Direct allocation from the purchase order to a receivable account window.

  • Select one of either the Receivable account OR the Sales Order from the dropdown lists.
  • Enter the Client order # if known.
  • Enter the Receivable account quantity required.
  • You can enter pricing details if required, otherwise the details from the Receivable Account will be used.
  • Click Save.

 

 

This will now be shown on the Allocations for purchase order line screen.

  • Click Save and Close.

Packing Slip records the Sales Order number

When the item arrives and is received in from the Purchase Order, this process produces a Packing Slip and that will have the Sales Order number, which identifies it as being for the customer.
