Approve a Requested Booking

Introduction

If you need to have all Yard Bookings approved before being despatched, you can set a flag in the Yard Manager. New Bookings will have a Status of Requested and will need to be approved by a User with the Security Role of Yard Maintenance before they can be despatched.

If you do not need approval for Yard Bookings, then any User who makes bookings can mark the booked items to be despatched.

This flag also governs the restriction that you cannot add to or edit bookings that have been approved. You can add to and edit bookings that are at the Status of Requested.

Approve a Requested Booking

Now when a new booking is added, the Status will appear as Requested. Any User may view the booking, but only Users with the Security Roles of Yard Maintenance will be able to approve it.

  • Go to Yard > Bookings.

In the Edit Booking screen:

The Status shows as Requested.

  • Click Save and Approve: Users with the Security Role of Yard Maintenance can Save and Approve the booking.
This will then cause the booking to be displayed in the Despatch and Returns screens.

Users who do not have the required Security role will see a warning message if they attempt to Save and Approve the booking.
